Slow Looking, The Blanton Museum of Art
- when: Thurs 19 @ 7:30 PM, Fri 20 @ 2 PM (30 min), April 2018
- where: The Blanton Museum of Art > 200 E Martin Luther King Jr Blvd
- The Education Team, The Blanton Museum of Art
- Presented in partnership with the Education Department at the Blanton Museum of Art.
The Education Team at The Blanton Museum of Art are hosting a series of 30-minute conversations about a single work of art.
As our attention spans dwindle, our experiences more and more resemble the jump cut rather than the long take. Festivals can intensify the effect, with their hectic schedules and surfeit of sensory experiences. Taking time to pause and look deeply is a rare thing. At the Blanton, take time out of your schedule and join a small group of people that will engage with a single work of art, and through reflective, attentive looking and discussion, reclaim the pleasures of the slow.
